Anna Mecha, Oil Painter

Anna Mecha, Artist
Anna Mecha was born in Vietnam, the daughter of an Army Captain in the former Republic of South Vietnam.  She was interested in drawing from a young age but the war and the resulting political changes adversely affected her ability to pursue an Art education. After her father was released from being held as a Prisoner of War, her family immigrated to the United States in January of 1994. Her first goal was to obtain a degree and a professional business position.

With a degree in Accounting, she currently works full-time as a Banking Credit Analyst. Now, she is seeking to fulfill her dream of becoming a professional Artist. She started her first painting class at Richland College in Fall 2006 and have since been attending several drawing and painting courses within the Dallas County Community College District.  She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and certified Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior College.

She currently reside in North Texas with her husband.

February 9 2008 – February 28, 2008
The oil on canvas painting “My Little Niece” was selected for Art Exhibition at the Latino Cultural Center 2600 Live Oak Street Dallas, Texas 75204.

March 19, 2008 – April 11, 2008
The oil paintings “My Little Niece” and “Cub Lake Colorado” were selected for Student Art Exhibition in the Brazos Gallery, Richland College at 12800 Abrams Road, Dallas, Texas 75243. “My Little Niece” won 1st prize in Painting and 1st Overall.

April 29, 2008
Awarded at the 20th Annual Richland College Student Success Awards Ceremony and Banquet at Granville Arts Center 330 North Fifth Street, Garland, Texas. This award is an acknowledgement of accomplishment that celebrates outstanding achievement in Art.
